What Are "The Mystery Schools"?
The Origin Of Secret Societies And Their Teachings...
Have you ever heard of something called “The Mystery Schools”? Unless you are a student of ancient history and/or occultism, probably not. From the earliest days of humanity on earth, a small group of individuals have sought to hide knowledge from the masses for the purposes of control. Back in the days before recorded history, a band of initiate “priest-kings” seized the reins of power over the masses by utilizing discoveries and technologies that the bulk of humanity did not understand. They used this disparity in knowledge to wield control of the ignorant masses. Knowledge of astronomy and other natural sciences gave them an advantage over the uneducated public, and they used this knowledge to sway the people to behave in certain ways that they wanted. They would convince the people that they were the earthly representatives of the gods by predicting events such as eclipses, comets, and other astrological events. This is how they established their foothold as the powerbrokers of this world, and their traditions still continue on today within the auspices of various secret society groups (such as the freemasons). The vast majority of their philosophical views and teachings are based upon what is known as the “Luciferian Doctrine”, or “Luciferian Philosophy”. In most of these “mystery traditions”, they teach a different historical perspective than what we are used to hearing about. They teach that “man was held prisoner in the Garden of Eden by a cruel and vindictive God (Jehovah), and that he was set free from this condition by being given the gift of “fire” (intellect) by Lucifer (Prometheus), the gift of “primordial knowing” symbolized in the allegory of the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil in the biblical account. From here, these groups teach that man can become “as gods” through the use of his intellect, and that there is no “God” apart from man himself. It is primarily a form of secular humanism taught through the use of symbols and iconography borne out of the teachings from the ancient world. Of course, this description is a very broad generalization, and it goes much, much deeper than this overly simplified explanation.
